|
Utility lines, or telephone poles, stand silently, ignored by most people; yet the poles help elevate humans to a softer lifestyle. These poles are a recurring image in my artwork that I use to represent humankind. |

||
|
Moaning, mournful sounds are created when strong winds vibrate utility lines. Also, objects that are snagged by lines and fence wires are whipped into oblivion by the passing wind. |
||

||
|
This painting is dedicated to my grandmothers. The painting was inspired by an airplane window's view during a flight undertaken to attend my maternal grandmother's funeral. It looked so peaceful out there: an enormous, vast land of clouds and a blue sky that rose to an indescribable indigo blue. |

June 2008: this painting has been purchased by the state of South Dakota. It will be in the Legislative conference room. |
