Floorcloths are canvas rug alternatives that have been around since the 1700s, also known as "oyl clothes" in England.
They are hand painted heavyweight canvas rugs - best described as Art for your floor. They can be placed on any hard surface such as hardwood floors, linoleum, tile or concrete. They are durable, long-lasting and easy to care for! Though many buy them to hang on the wall!
American artists made floorcloths until the invention of linoleum in 1860. In the 1950s and 60s with the historic restoration movement came the rebirth of floorcloths.
Today floorcloths have come full circle and are taking on the designs of today's world or yesterday's.
